Hi and thanks for visiting my camping tent website…

Dave the Happy Camper
My name is David, but many of my friends refer to me as Dave the Happy Camper. It doesn’t mean that I’m happy all the time, but it does mean that I am usually at my happiest when I am off someplace camping; and that can be in a tent or even in a caravan or a motor home.
I first started camping as a young kid, everything from YMCA camps and Boy Scout Camps and Jamborees, to vacations in overseas countries and camping at holiday parks, on the beach or in a forest somewhere. Now I am in my sixties, and I still enjoy being out there “under canvas” in one of my many camping tents.
I have quite a collection actually. These include a couple of small and lightweight tents suitable for backpacking. One of them is a two-person tent, but it’s more comfortable when I’m just in it alone. Another is a real one-man tent, small enough for bicycle camping or hiking.
I more recent aquisition is a cute, orange-colored popup tent that packs up as a large flat disc. But when you unzip the case and pull the thing out, it springs open in a couple of seconds. It is very quick to set up, and only takes a few minutes to pack up again when it is time to break camp and move on.
I have just spent three days solid converting this website from the old html format to a WordPress blog site. I made the new version live today (3rd Feb, 2012), but I still have to process the pictures and add them back. They looked nice enough in the original form but I am going to have to make them a bit smaller to fit this new design. I hope you like it.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me by email using the Contact Me form on the site. Or else you can make a comment directly on the blog itself, underneath the article you are commenting about. All comments are vetted, and have to be approved by a moderator before they show up on the site.
In the meantime, I hope you will spend some time looking around.
Bye for now,
Dave, the Happy Camper.
